A beautiful early 19th-century pine cupboard with exceptional character, warm timeworn surface, and wonderfully simple proportions.

The upper cabinet features two tall glazed doors opening to a spacious display area with a full-width wooden shelf. Below, two paneled doors provide generous concealed storage. The restrained paneled construction, molded cornice, scalloped base, old iron hardware, wide-board back, and naturally aged pine give this piece the unmistakable character of an early country cupboard.

The pine has developed a gorgeous mellow honey tone with variations in color, old marks, knots, wear, and patina throughout. The back is particularly beautiful, constructed from individual wide boards showing extensive age and surface variation.

At just over 73” tall, this cupboard has substantial presence while remaining unusually versatile in scale. It would be beautiful used as a kitchen or dining room cupboard, linen cabinet, bookcase, display cabinet, or statement storage piece in a living room.
